What is it about snickerdoodle cookies that makes them so beloved? These buttery cookies rolled in cinnamon have no fussy ingredients, no frosting or decoration to speak of, but somehow, these fluffy white confections with their crackled cinnamon tops have captured our hearts. Perhaps it’s their simplicity that sets them apart from the crowd of rich, heavy holiday treats. Plus, their whimsical name is so fun to say: snickerdoodles.
With this Snickerdoodle Shakeology recipe, we took everything we love about those delightful treats, and made a healthy smoothie that we can drink throughout the holiday season without sabotaging our New Year’s Resolutions before we even get started. It’s lightly sweetened with maple syrup and vanilla, and blended with lots of cinnamon.
Here’s a tip that will make your snickerdoodle smoothie taste even better: If you’ve had that little jar of cinnamon in your pantry for a while, it’s time to replace it with a new bottle of fresh, fragrant ground cinnamon. It will make a huge difference in this and other recipes where cinnamon is a major player, like our No-Bake Cinnamon Sugar Donut Holes, Apple Cinnamon Protein Pancakes, and these simply divine Cinnamon Bananas.
